Virgin Material: something in its purest and most natural state; unused and uncultivated.
The most beautiful virgin material I’ve ever seen has perfect dimensions, nice even complexion color, and completely naked of print, beautiful undulating flutes and corrugation in all shapes and sizes.
Alright, get your head out of the clouds. I’m talking about an Overrun Box of course, the virgin of our industry.
A box after my own heart: special in every way, and existing in its most native and raw form, a box anxiously awaiting its first use…. First time in a production line, for bee’s sake.
I know what you are wondering; where did this virgin material come from? Interestingly, the overrun is born for many different reasons.
Take the paper Mill for example (the Mother) creates an overrun with the wrong “paper combination” (we’ll call the Father) maybe things ended up misprinted, incorrect dimension, or just to many overruns to count.
The Overrun Box is just discarded after production and it is in need of a surrogate home. It wasn’t in the plan but it happened, and it happens all the time, these gorgeous little boxes are manufactured every day for all the wrong reasons.
Here is where I come in: I‘m the foster parent that takes the new fresh overrun and tries to find a good home for it.
These great accidents of the industry would be sent straight to the recycling plant. After all the strain on our environment went into the creation, it is sent to be recycled.
This is unnecessary recycling for a perfect piece of virgin material that never lived to its true potential.
Renew Packaging Solutions steps in, I bring forth these boxes to businesses that recognize the value and need to be economically and ecologically conscious. I find a home for this greener packaging option that fulfills the needs of local and national businesses.
These boxes connect with targeted consumers without sacrificing our environment and leave much less of a carbon foot print.
As consumers, we are programmed to salivate every time someone rings a bell or, not unlike Pavlov’s dog, and purchase products described with trendy words like “organic,” “natural” or even ”new and improved.” So here are a few to drool over: Pre-consumer? You bet. Less energy used? Heck Yeah. Biodegradability? Totally. Freaking cheap box?? Yes sir.
